CURRENT WORKSHOP DATES * SATURDAY 14TH NOVEMBER 9.30AM - 12.30PM * FRIDAY 4TH DECEMBER 6PM - 9PM Give old clothes and unwanted textiles a new lease of life this Christmas in this relaxed and creative sewing workshop. Instead of buying new decorations, you’ll learn how to turn pre-loved fabrics into a beautiful handmade Christmas garland that you can bring out year after year. During the session, you’ll be guided step-by-step as you transform old clothing and fabrics into festive decorations, before bringing them together to create your own unique garland. Every garland will be different, depending on the fabrics and colours you choose. This is sewing at a gentle, unhurried pace, no rushing, no pressure, just time to enjoy the Christmas atmosphere, learn some new sewing skills and create something special to take home. Whether you’re completely new to sewing or already have some experience, you’ll be guided throughout the process in a relaxed and supportive environment. You’ll learn how to: 🎄 Cut and prepare fabric for upcycling 🎄 Use a sewing machine with confidence 🎄 Sew different shapes and curves 🎄 Turn and finish fabric pieces neatly 🎄 Create and assemble your festive decorations 🎄 Bring unwanted fabrics together to create a beautiful garland Who is this workshop for? - Adults and (under 16’s will need to book onto the course with a paying adult). - Perfect for beginners and improvers (you need to have used a sewing machine before) - Anyone who loves Christmas and festive decorating - Perfect for a relaxed and creative Christmas activity - Anyone who enjoys making something they can use and enjoy year after year What’s included? - Personal guidance from an experienced sewing tutor - Sewing machine and all equipment provided - Garland string - Tea, coffee, soft drinks and mince pies - A relaxed and festive sewing environment What to bring - Clothes or unwanted textiles that you are happy to cut up - This could be children's clothes that they have grown out of, your clothes, old sheets or even table cloths.
